Staying in Jonesborough
Tennessee’s oldest town is small enough to walk end to end. Stay on or near Main Street and you’re steps from the 1913 courthouse, the International Storytelling Center, the Jackson Theatre and the old log houses — then you leave the car parked for the evening. Rooms in town are few and mostly historic inns, so book ahead for festival weekends; chain hotels sit a short drive east in Johnson City.
