Tri-Cities lake between Johnson City, Kingsport and Bristol, where the South Fork Holston and Watauga meet.
Boone Lake is where the South Fork Holston and Watauga rivers come together. Its water flows on to the Holston and then the Tennessee River at Knoxville (TVA system). The lake sits between Johnson City, Kingsport and Bristol, so it’s the Tri-Cities’ backyard lake.
Expect pontoons, skiing and fishing in summer. Like the other mountain-tributary lakes, the water level drops in winter, so check TVA before you plan a launch.
