Cherokee Lake is TVA’s Holston River reservoir behind Cherokee Dam, with shoreline in Grainger, Hamblen, Hawkins and Jefferson counties. Panther Creek State Park and Cherokee Park are on the Morristown side; Grainger County Park is on the north shore.
Like Douglas, it’s a flood-control lake with a big seasonal drawdown — check TVA lake levels before you launch.
